What happens if I live with someone else?

If you're married or in a civil partnership and you're both eligible by age, you can take out a joint mortgage. The same applies if you're living with someone as a partner. Your spouse or partner will then have the right to live in the property for as long as they wish, should you pass away or move into long-term care. If you have a friend, tenant or anyone else living in your home we'll want to make sure that they have no rights to continue to live there once you move out or pass away.
