What happens if I die or need to move into long-term care?

If you are married or are in a civil partnership and have a joint-lifetime mortgage, your spouse or civil partner can continue to live in the property for as long as they wish. Once the property is sold, the lifetime mortgage and any accrued interest must be repaid within 12 months.
