Accidental damage is damage caused suddenly by external means which is not expected and not deliberate.

A level of accidental damage cover is included in your home insurance as standard. It insures you against things like breakages or damage to fixtures and fittings (windows, toilets or baths etc), mirrors, glass and home entertainment equipment. It also covers accidental damage to underground cables, pipes or drains.

This cover is limited though. You can extend your accidental damage cover for things like putting your foot through the ceiling or spilling a drink on your carpet.
